Photography Competition Rules of Entry

 

Theme of competition is ‘Autumn and Winter in the Park’ and entrants are free to interpret this as they wish.

 

Images should be taken within the area of the three parks – Clarence, Holmfield and Thornes.

 

There are two categories for entry:  Under 16s and adults.  If you are under 16, we need to

have your date of birth with your entry.

 

Entries should be sent to Photographic Competition, Friends of CHaT Parks, PO Box 629, Wakefield, WF1 9JT or email jPEGs to photo@CHaTparks.org.uk

 

Deadline dates for submissions – 1st February 2010.

 

There are no restrictions as to who may enter the competition other than members of the judging panel and executive committee itself, who are excluded.

 

Full contact details must be supplied with each entry and printed clearly on the reverse of the photographs.  Please state where and when the image was taken.

Maximum of four images per entrant allowed.

 

Prints submitted are to be of a maximum size of A4.  Please supply CD copy of the image wherever possible (scanned or jPEG).

 

Black and white as well as colour images are acceptable.

 

Any people featured in photographs must be contacted by the entrant for their approval before entering the photograph in the competition.  If any children are depicted in the photograph (under 16s) parental consent to use the image is also required – in all cases permission needs to be in writing and submitted with photographs.

 

Photographs must be the original work of the person entering the competition and he or she must own copyright.

 

Copyright remains with photographer BUT by entering the competition he or she gives consent for the image to be used by the Friends of CHaT Parks.  The owner retains the right to use his or her photographs in any way s/he chooses.

 

It is the responsibility of the sender to ensure he or she retains a copy of any images submitted as we cannot return entries, nor can we be responsible for loss or damage in transit.

 

It is the responsibility of entrants to obtain necessary proof of postage.

 

If entrants wish to have acknowledgement of receipt, they must include a sae with their entry.

 

Panel of judges and criteria for judgement to be determined by competition setters.

Entering the competition means the person agrees to abide by the rules and the judges’ decision.
